As an Associate Agent with Redfin, you'll play a key role in helping customers explore homes and understand the buying process.

Associate Agents are independent contractors who primarily work evenings and weekends when most customers want to tour homes. The role is perfect for licensed agents who want flexibility and guaranteed payment for their time, rather than working solely on commission.

No prior real estate experience is required — we provide comprehensive training and support. You’ll need an active real estate license, reliable transportation, and excellent customer service skills.

Click on the position for which you’d like to apply, and you’ll be directed to our applicant tracking system, Workday.
After creating an account or logging in, you’ll provide your name, contact information, answer some questions and have the option to upload a current copy of your resume. The whole process only takes a few minutes.

Simply sign in to your candidate portal here and check under “My Applications.”

Because we are primarily a financial institution, we’ll conduct criminal background, reference, and credit checks prior to a formal offer of employment, with your consent, of course.

Here’s a quick overview of what to expect in the Redfin Associate Agent hiring process:

1. Submit your application (1–2 minutes)
You’ll complete a short online form and confirm you meet basic qualifications, including having (or working toward) an active real estate license.

2. Interview (3–5 business days)
If there’s an opening in your area, we’ll invite you to complete a brief one‑way video interview. You’ll answer a few questions about your client service experience, professionalism, and interest in real estate.

3. Onboarding (1–2 weeks)
If selected, you’ll join our onboarding program, where you’ll learn Redfin tools, best practices for tours, open houses, and inspections, and how to start accepting paid field events.

You will need a real estate license for most brokerage roles at Redfin – and we're here to help you get started.

As a licensed professional, you can join us as:
  • A Lead Agent guiding clients through their entire home journey
  • An Associate Agent contractor hosting tours and open houses on your schedule
  • A support specialist in transaction coordination or inside sales

We also have unlicensed roles on our support teams, from tour coordination to listing support, where you can learn the business from the ground up while considering getting licensed.

Recruiter communication

If you call your Recruiter back and receive their voicemail, please leave a detailed message with your name, number and the best time for you to be reached.
You’ll hear back within two business days via phone or text. If you don’t hear anything within that timeframe, please contact us via email.

It generally takes our Recruiters and Hiring Leaders a few weeks to review your application.

You will be updated via email if you weren’t a match compared to other candidates in process or if the position was filled. After an interview with a Recruiter or Hiring Leader, you will get an update over the phone regardless of the outcome.
